On Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, Friend’s Creek Conservation Area is holding Carrollton’s 30th Annual Astronomy Jamboree. It’ll be an evening of family fun under the stars, featuring an astronomy program, storytelling by the campfire, kids’ make-and-take crafts, and stargazing.
Free hot chocolate and marshmallows will be provided to all who attend. You may also bring your own picnic dinner and enjoy a meal at the Creek’s 526-acre prairie before the jamboree begins at 7 p.m. In addition, for those of you who love to camp out, reservations are being accepted for overnight stays following the event - just don’t forget your tent!
